Job summary

Georgia-Pacific is seeking a Lead Software Engineer-AI to design, build, and operate AI-powered applications, primarily computer vision, deployed across 100+ facilities. This hands-on technical leadership role reports to the CV Senior IT Delivery Manager and requires strong analytic and troubleshooting skills.

You will lead architecture, deploy AI solutions in cloud and edge environments, and mentor engineers while driving best practices for reliability and performance.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in software engineering for distributed systems with design/delivery responsibility.
• Experience leading design or delivery teams.
• Experience with ML/AI, computer vision, or data-driven apps.

Responsibilities

• Lead development, deployment, and operation of AI applications for 100+ facilities.
• Provide architectural guidance for cloud and edge AI in Kubernetes/EKS.
• Collaborate with data scientists and product managers on new AI products.
• Develop production-ready code using modern AI/data tools.
• Mentor engineers through design/code reviews and leadership.
• Address technical debt and establish best practices for reliability and scalability.
• Promote continuous learning and team development.
