• Lead a team of three engineers on the Contract Intelligence Engine.
• Design and evolve the canonical contract data model aligned with architecture.
• Own the AI/LLM extraction strategy for contracts, terms, and amendments.
• Design structured extraction frameworks with traceability to source clauses.
• Establish extraction validation methodologies, quality standards, and accuracy thresholds.
• Develop bi-temporal data models for historical accuracy and versioning.
• Review architecture, prompts, schemas, Python code, SQL, and PRs.
• Collaborate with client stakeholders and participate in technical decisions.
• Integrate the solution into the Huron Vantage platform and service contracts.
• Ensure the solution is scalable, reliable, auditable, and production-ready.

Job description

We are seeking a hands‑on Lead AI Engineer to lead a pod of three engineers building the Contract Intelligence Engine, a Databricks‑based service within the Huron Vantage platform.

This role combines technical leadership, AI solution design, data modeling, and client collaboration. The ideal candidate will own the technical direction of the solution, including LLM‑based extraction strategies, canonical data model design, integration architecture, and overall solution quality.

The platform is focused on transforming complex healthcare reimbursement contracts into structured, computable, versioned, and auditable data that can be used across the enterprise.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the technical direction and execution of a team of three engineers.
• Design and evolve the canonical contract data model aligned with existing domain architecture.
• Own the AI/LLM extraction strategy for contract language, reimbursement terms, amendments, fee schedules, incentives, and payment rules.
• Design structured extraction frameworks with strong traceability back to source contract clauses.
• Establish extraction validation methodologies, quality standards, and accuracy thresholds.
• Design effective‑dated and bi‑temporal data models to support historical accuracy and contract versioning.
• Review architecture, prompts, schemas, Python code, SQL, and pull requests.
• Collaborate directly with client stakeholders and participate in technical decision‑making.
• Integrate the solution into the Huron Vantage platform and service contracts.
• Ensure the solution is scalable, reliable, auditable, and production‑ready.

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of software engineering, data engineering, or AI solution development experience.
• Strong hands‑on experience with Databricks.
• Advanced proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Experience designing and implementing AI‑powered solutions, particularly LLM‑based information extraction workflows.
• Experience with Databricks AI Functions and Unity Catalog.
• Strong data modeling and solution architecture experience.
• Experience leading small engineering teams or technical workstreams.
• Experience reviewing code, architecture decisions, and technical deliverables.
• Excellent client‑facing communication skills and strong English proficiency.
• Ability to translate complex business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
