Job summary

The Mutual Group in Boston area is hiring a Lead AI Engineer to build and scale production-grade AI solutions on AWS. This role is hands-on and oriented toward delivering real systems in a regulated insurance environment.

You will drive end-to-end AI/ML pipelines, MLOps, and responsible AI practices, mentoring engineers and partnering with architects to deliver high-impact use cases across policy, claims, and billing systems.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in software and data engineering
• 5+ years AI/ML engineering hands-on
• Experience with RAG pipelines and LLMs
• Experience with AWS Bedrock or similar GenAI platforms
• Knowledge of data pipelines and distributed systems
• MLOps practices including CI/CD and monitoring

Responsibilities

• Design and implement end-to-end AI/ML solutions including LLM-based apps
• Build RAG pipelines using vector databases and enterprise data sources
• Train, validate, monitor, and retrain ML models
• Develop APIs and services to operationalize AI capabilities
• Ingest and transform multimodal data; ensure data quality and governance
• Deploy and monitor models in production with CI/CD
• Lead engineering teams and influence standards
