Job summary

ZipStaff is seeking a Lead AI Engineer specializing in agentic test automation to design and scale AI-driven testing capabilities for a leading housing finance organization. This on-site role in Tysons, VA requires hands-on technical leadership and the ability to create lasting engineering assets across UI, API, and service layers.

You will develop agentic testing patterns, GenAI-assisted reporting, and automated quality gates adopted by multiple underwriting teams.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software engineering or test automation experience.
• Hands-on experience building LLM-powered agents (tool-using, multi-step reasoning, guardrails, structured outputs).
• Ability to design agent workflows for test generation/augmentation, requirements review, and report generation/summarization.
• Strong proficiency with GitHub Copilot in day-to-day development.
• Deep experience with GitHub Actions (CI/CD pipelines, reusable workflows, composite actions).
• Advanced experience designing automation with Karate and Playwright.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement agentic testing patterns for multiple teams.
• Create reference implementations for test generation, maintenance, and failure analysis.
• Establish standard architecture for test code organization, tagging, data management, and execution across UI, API, and service layers.
• Define and publish coverage standards and reusable templates for tests and definitions of ready/done.
• Build GenAI-assisted reporting and quality insights across microservices.
