Job summary

Expert Technology Services in the United States is seeking a senior software/data engineer to lead the delivery of strategic business initiatives from problem definition through solution deployment. You will design scalable, data-intensive applications and backend services.

You will integrate data from AWS, Azure, Databricks, and Oracle, transform processes with automation and AI, work with business stakeholders to define KPIs, and ensure reliable operations and measurable outcomes.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience in software engineering, data engineering, machine learning, BI/AI engineering, data science, or data analysis.
• Proven experience building and deploying production-grade, data-intensive applications/services.
• Strong proficiency in Python and modern software engineering practices (version control, testing, code review, API design).
• Hands-on experience with AWS, Microsoft Azure, Databricks, and Oracle platforms.
• Experience building data pipelines and integrating structured and unstructured data from multiple sources.
• Experience modernizing manual or fragmented business processes using software, automation, and AI solutions.
• Ability to work directly with business stakeholders to define requirements and measure outcomes.
• Strong independent working skills and effective communication with technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of strategic business initiatives from problem definition through solution deployment.
• Design and develop scalable, data-intensive software applications and backend services.
• Integrate data from various sources including cloud platforms, enterprise systems, SharePoint, spreadsheets, and APIs.
• Transform manual and fragmented business processes into automated, scalable solutions.
• Deploy AI, machine learning, and agent-based capabilities within software applications when appropriate.
• Partner with stakeholders to refine business requirements, define success metrics, and establish measurable KPIs.
• Design and implement systems of record to capture recommendations, decisions, and business outcomes for long-term impact measurement and reporting.
• Establish data validation, monitoring, governance, and operational support processes to ensure solution reliability and adoption.
• Collaborate directly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to iterate on solutions and measure business outcomes.
• Operate independently, making sound technical decisions, and communicate clearly across diverse teams.
