Job summary

Ellipsis Health in Silicon Valley seeks a seasoned technical leader for our AI Research & Engineering team to drive agentic AI from research prototypes to production-scale systems, ensuring robustness and low latency in clinical applications.

You will collaborate with infrastructure, product managers, and clinicians to shape architecture, real-time evaluation, and data pipelines, while mentoring engineers and setting rigorous coding standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Statistics, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of practical software development experience with product design and scalable platforms (or 2+ years post-PhD in AI research/engineering).
• Advanced programming in Python and hands-on experience with distributed ML frameworks (PyTorch, JAX, TensorFlow).
• Proven track record deploying complex LLM-powered applications and autonomous systems in production.

Responsibilities

• Technical Leadership & Vision: act as the technical authority for the Agentic AI roadmap and production scale.
• Advanced Agentic Architecture: design and optimize scalable systems with multi-step reasoning and dynamic memory.
• Research-to-Production Translation: implement state-of-the-art techniques in post-training tuning and prompt optimization.
• Rigorous Evaluation & Benchmarking: build evaluation frameworks and continuous testing for zero-regression updates.
• Data Mix Optimization: develop pipelines to structure feedback, logs, and labels into high-quality training data.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: work with clinicians, product managers, and engineers to ensure safe AI platforms.
• Mentorship & Engineering Excellence: set coding standards and mentor ML and software engineers.
