Job summary

The University of Maryland, Salisbury location, is seeking a research assistant to support the IR-4 Northeast Region field activities. You will coordinate research, review data, monitor GLP compliance, and assist with stakeholder outreach in specialty crop projects.

You will provide direct field and greenhouse trial support at LESREC, work under the Field Research Director and RFC, and ensure laboratory and field procedures meet standards and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in agriculture or related field.
• Three years of experience on agricultural research utilizing scientific methods.
• Experience with field research and data collection.
• Experience with Quality Control.
• GLP training.
• Comprehensive knowledge of farming practices and equipment usage.
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations and use farm equipment.
• Ability to train agricultural technicians and workers; to communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Assist with RFC functions: coordinating research, reviewing data, monitoring GLP compliance, and stakeholder outreach.
• Provide direct support in the conduct of magnitude of residue trials in the field and greenhouse at LESREC on specialty crops.
