Job summary

MANTECH seeks a motivated, career Lead Aerospace Structural Welder to join our team in Panama City, FL. This is an onsite position focused on supporting US Navy LCAC maintenance and modification programs.

You will lead a welding team, perform TIG/MIG welding on aerospace components, read blueprints, and ensure compliance with Navy and industry standards. A strong QA mindset with NDT involvement is essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 7+ years welding/fabrications maintenance experience on air cushion vehicles, aircraft, or Navy systems.
• 5+ years supervising welding/fabrication maintenance and repair of air cushion vehicles or aircraft.
• NAVSEA Welding Certifications for aluminum, stainless, and Inconel, or ability to pass NAVSEA NDT/welding tests within 6 months.
• Experience reading engineering drawings, welding symbols, and technical specifications.
• MIG/TIG welding of aluminum, stainless steel, and Inconel components.

Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To

• Lead a team of welders and fabricators in support to the US Navy LCAC maintenance and modification program.
• Perform precision welding on aerospace components using TIG, MIG, and other welding techniques.
• Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to determine welding requirements.
• Conduct structural repairs and modifications to aluminum, stainless steel, and inconel components.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 7+ years of experience in welding/fabrications maintenance, repair, or modification to air cushion vehicles, aircraft, or U.S. Navy shipboard mechanical systems.
• 5+ years of concurrent experience supervising welding/fabrication maintenance and repair of air cushion vehicles or aircraft.
• Demonstrated experience implementing, maintaining and leading a robust welding quality control program.
• Experience in welding metallurgy, welding techniques, and quality control practices
• Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings, welding symbols, and technical specifications
• Experience in MIG/TIG welding of aluminum, stainless steel, and Inconel components
• Must possess current NAVSEA Welding Certifications for aluminum, stainless, and inconel and certifications in Non-Destructive Testing (NDT); or Ability to pass the NAVSEA certification test in NDT and welding techniques for listed metals within first 6 months of employment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Formal Welding training and certification
• Experience working in DoD or military aerospace programs
• Familiarity with NAVSEA, USAF, or USN aerospace structural repair standards
• Prior experience with fabrication of UAVs, aircraft parts, or aerospace systems

Clearance Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship required and an active Secret security clearance or ability to get an Interim Secret before starting

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%
• Needs to frequently move about industrial and fabrication areas, including climbing, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve briefings or technical discussions.
• Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations
