Job summary

Boeing in Oklahoma City is seeking a Lead Mechanical System Design Engineer to join the Air Vehicle Engineering team. You will lead mechanical, fluid, and thermal system design for MS&B programs and serve as a SME for the Fuels system of the B-52, with onsite work in Oklahoma City.

The role requires a BS in engineering and 9+ years in mechanical systems design, plus CAD/CAM expertise and strong communication skills. Relocation is available and exposure to proposal development is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical or Material Sciences)
• 9+ years of experience in mechanical systems design
• Practical experience with Fuels, Hydraulic Systems, or ECS.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and documentation of mechanical and fluid system and thermal environment
• Lead the development, maintenance or modification of system designs/proposals to provide design documentation and high-level requirements to downstream users/customers
• Perform detailed design development and modification of mechanical and fluid system installations
• Prepare technical documents for mechanical components and systems
• Prepare proposal and new business development efforts
• Work with test program management for work estimation and intake process
• Delegate tasks to design team and provide supervision to junior engineers.
