Job summary

Relativity Space, Inc. in California, Long Beach, is seeking a Dynamics Engineer to own design considerations of secondary structures, avionics and actuators for random vibration, acoustics, and aero buffet.

You will develop methodologies to analyze, test, and qualify designs for vibration and shock. You will lead instrumentation validation, collaborate with Avionics, Propulsion, GNC and Reliability to drive data-driven improvements, mentoring junior analysts, in a fast-paced, mission-driven

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years in structural dynamics, random vibrations and acoustics.
• Experience drawing up shaker/shock test plans.
• Knowledge of NASTRAN, ABAQUS or ANSYS.
• Ability to coordinate with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Ownership of design considerations of secondary structures, avionics and actuators for random vibration, acoustics and aero buffet.
• Develop methodology to analyze, test and qualify the designs for vibration and shock.
• Manage implementation and validation of Dynamics instrumentation and measurement systems in partnership with Avionics.
• Proactively support test planning and execution related to vibration, shock, acoustics.
• Develop payload interface vibration/shock/acoustic levels and collaborate with Mission Management and customers on spec compliance and improvements.
• Lead collaboration with interfacing teams: aerodynamics, propulsion, GNC, reliability engineering, reusability/life analysis and design criteria.
