Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent; technical/engineering associate degree preferred.
• Minimum 10 years in manufacturing of precision machined components, preferably aerospace or medical device.
• Experience leading and managing a team toward common goals; prior supervisor experience preferred.
• Strong background in high-mix/low-volume machining with lean manufacturing.
• Proven ability to drive metrics: FTY, efficiency, WIP, on-time delivery, cost control, and scrap reduction.

Responsibilities

• Lead a multi-department team of CNC Operators and Set-Up Operators in a high-mix/low-volume aerospace environment.
• Manage day-to-day priorities across machining departments; cross-train staff and improve setup/run-time performance.
• Develop and author standard work for production equipment; coach staff on safety, QMS policies.
• Motivate the team to meet daily/weekly/monthly goals; identify waste and lead lean improvements.
• Coordinate time-off via skills matrix to ensure staffing across all centers.
• Publish performance metrics; conduct periodic evaluations; apply corrective actions as needed.
• Host GEMBA walks and act as liaison between operators and cross-functional teams.
• Collaborate with engineering, purchasing, production control, and sales to close issues quickly.
• Work with production control to stage priorities, expedite jobs, and maintain ERP integrity.
