Job summary

Curtiss‑Wright Actuation Division is seeking a Chief Engineer – Aerospace Actuation & Actuation Systems to provide technical oversight and direction for hydromechanical and electromechanical actuation, motion control systems, and associated PDUs. You will lead design, certification, and integration efforts in a high‑end aerospace setting from Shelby, NC.

The role requires 15–30 years in aerospace actuation/flight controls, strong systems engineering, and proven leadership in customer

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (mechanical, electrical, aerospace, or equivalent).
• Master’s degree in engineering preferred.
• 15–30 years of aerospace actuation/flight controls experience required.
• Experience leading communications with customers on technical topics and progress.
• Experience in bid/proposal creation and NRE estimates.
• Experience deriving and tracing requirements with compliance focus.
• Experience creating aerospace reliability analyses (FMEA/FMECA).
• Experience leading root-cause/corrective action initiatives (8D, 5-why, Ishikawa).
• Track record delivering results on time and within budget.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical direction within Curtiss‑Wright’s aerospace actuation group.
• Lead bids/proposals and NPI/IRAD projects with matrix teams.
• Develop and refine governance and best practices for the team.
