Job summary

HCA Florida Osceola Hospital in Kissimmee, FL is seeking a Lead Advanced Paramedic ED to coordinate emergency care and communicate with the care team and physicians. You will ensure patient safety, participate in ongoing development, and uphold clinical standards.

Required: Paramedic credential, vocational school graduate, and at least 3 years of EMS experience, plus ACLS, BLS and PALS within specified timeframes. This is a full-time on-site role in the hospital setting.

Qualifications

• ACLS must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date.
• Basic Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• PALS must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date.
• Paramedic certification is required.
• Graduation from a vocational school is required.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in the field.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate emergency department paramedic activities.
• Communicate patient status to team members and attending physicians.
• Report to the Director of Emergency Services and participate in meetings.
• Maintain patient safety and charting competency, and support department growth.
• Foster positive relationships with patients, visitors, staff and physicians.

Job Summary And Qualifications

The Lead Advanced Paramedic ED will collect and convey information to both their team members and the attending Physician regarding the health status of patients. The Hospital Paramedic will perform all duties identified in their job description and validated by competency assessment under the License of the Physician Medical Director. They will report to the Director of Emergency Services. They will serve as a member of the Healthcare team through active communication; documentation; feedback and assistance as needed or requested. The Hospital Paramedic will provide for patient safety. Attend meetings and in-services as required by departmental policy. Contributes to the growth and development of self and department. Maintains an active involvement. Maintains good working relationship with patients, visitors, physicians, co-workers, and other hospital staff. Maintains competence with charting system. They may not, under any circumstances, perform the prohibited functions listed below.

What qualifications you will need:

• Advanced Cardiac Life Spt must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• PALS Pediatric Adv Life Supt must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
