Job summary
RTX Technology Research Center (RTRC) in East Hartford seeks an Advanced Manufacturing Lead Research Technician to support development and maturation of manufacturing technologies for internal and external programs. You will work in a fast-paced R&D environment with leading scientists and engineers across RTX, Collins Aerospace, Pratt & Whitney, and Raytheon.
Responsibilities include operating large DED systems, setting up experiments, executing additive builds, preparing samples, fixture
Qualifications
- AA/AS degree (or equivalent) with at least 8 years of experience.
- Minimum 1 year experience in directed energy deposition or welding.
- Minimum 1 year with G-Code CAM programming languages.
- Background with CNC machine or robot cell operation.
- Experience with machining, welding, and advanced manufacturing methods.
- Familiarity with CAD/CAM software (Siemens NX).
Responsibilities
- Operate a large-format, hybrid, powder directed energy deposition system.
- Configure and set up experiments to support manufacturing process development.
- Execute additive build and repair experiments.
- Prepare samples, perform machining, and fabricate fixtures.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues, perform maintenance, and execute repairs.
- Collaborate with RTRC and RTX teams to run research programs.
- Work safely at all times and follow all safety protocols.
