Job summary

GE Aerospace is seeking a Lead Advanced Manufacturing Engineer in Lynn, MA. The role focuses on bringing manufacturing processes to life, from design through tooling to equipment implementation, with a bias toward safe, high‑quality delivery and cost improvements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 3 years of Manufacturing & Production Process and Equipment experience (or a high school diploma/GED with 7 years of experience).
  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or a related field with 5+ years of Manufacturing & Production Process and Equipment experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Define and control production process including tooling and equipment. Validate design specifications and shop floor application of new product, tools, or equipment.
  • Developing in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline and applying it to policy/strategy.
  • Support production teams with problem solving and evolving manufacturing practices for safe and quality delivery.
  • Source and oversee new equipment & new product introduction to production readiness.
  • Support emerging technology platforms through R&D and Testing.
  • Understand how own work integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.

Job Description Summary

The Lead Advanced Manufacturing Engineer (AME) plays a key role in bringing manufacturing processes to life — from process design and tooling to equipment implementation, new product introduction, and production support. This person will work closely with cross‑functional teams to improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost by solving shop‑floor challenges, advancing manufacturing capability, and supporting production readiness for new and existing products. The ideal candidate combines strong manufacturing expertise, hands‑on problem solving, and the ability to guide others in a fast‑paced production environment.

In this role, you will help improve manufacturing capability, support production readiness, solve critical shop‑floor challenges, and enable safe, high‑quality delivery for the business. This is primarily a individual contributor role with opportunities to provide coaching, mentorship and project management through influence.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Define and control production process including tooling and equipment. Validate design specifications and shop floor application of new product, tools, or equipment. Includes Manufacturing Engineers.
  • Developing in‑depth knowledge of a technical discipline. Uses prior experience and acquired technical expertise to execute policy/strategy.
  • Support production teams with problem solving and evolving manufacturing practices to better support customer delivery through safe and quality processes/technology.
  • Source and oversee new equipment & new product introduction to production readiness.
  • Support emerging technology platforms through Research & Development and Testing
  • In‑depth understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. In‑depth understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university and a minimum of 3 years of Manufacturing & Production Process and Equipment experience (or a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 7 years of Manufacturing & Production Process and Equipment experience)
Desired Characteristics
  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or a related technical field from an accredited college or university and a minimum of 5 years of Manufacturing & Production Process and Equipment experience (or a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 9 years of Manufacturing & Production Process and Equipment experience)
  • Strong technical background CNC Machining and programming
  • Diverse knowledge of manufacturing process and how they relate to one another
  • Ability to mentor guide individuals and related technical disciplines
  • Familiar with automated control type systems and logic associated with them.
  • Experience in aerospace, turbine, precision machining, or other regulated manufacturing
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to plan, document, and execute technical programs or projects.
  • Ability to mentor others and work effectively across functions.
  • Demonstrates humility, transparency, focus, and collaborative leadership.

The base pay range for this position is $116,150-155,250 USD Annual. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary/ commission based on the plan. This posting is expected to close on September 13, 2026.
