Title: Lead Actuary

Location: Hybrid (1-2 days/week on site in Phoenix)

Type: FTE

Salary: $115,000-$145,000 + 10% Bonus

This business is a non-profit health insurance company that provides health insurance and related services to over 2 million customers in Arizona.

Key Responsibilities:

• This role is responsible for driving advanced analytical initiatives that inform strategic planning, enhance market positioning, and support financial performance across both enterprise and departmental levels.
• Proficient in working with large datasets using SAS and SQL Server, with a strong ability to identify key insights and data-related challenges.
• Serves as the lead actuary and second-in-command within the Health Econometrics team.
• Provides guidance through coaching, peer reviews, and mentoring to junior analysts, particularly in resolving complex data issues
• Collaborates cross-functionally with internal departments and external partners, including other health insurers, to align on data strategies and insights.

What We're Looking For:

• 6+ years of experience as an actuary, with a strong foundation in health actuarial work
• ASA or FSA designation
• Must be based in Arizona or open to relocating
• Proficient in SAS, SQL Server, and Excel
• A growth-oriented actuary who's ready to step into a leadership role and take on increased responsibility
• Naturally curious and detail-oriented-enjoys working with data and solving complex data issues
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across teams

Preferred Experience (a plus, but not required):

• Familiarity with Tableau or Power BI
• Experience with Rx-funded or self-funded health plans
