Birchwood of Hamilton in Ohio is seeking an Activity Director for a state-of-the-art skilled nursing facility. The director oversees the activity department to promote residents’ psychosocial, spiritual, and emotional well-being and to support families and staff.

Competenze

• Two years of experience in a social or recreational program within the past five years, one of which was full-time in a patient activities program in a health care setting.
• Eligible for certification as a therapeutic recreation specialist by a recognized accrediting body.
• Qualifies occupational therapist or occupational therapy assistant; or has completed activities state approved certification course.

Mansioni

• Ensures the department provides meaningful therapeutic groups, 1:1, and activities to meet resident needs.
• Oversees activity resident care plans, progress notes, and documentation.
• Recruits, interviews, hires and orients new team members for the Activity Department with supervision by the Administrator.
• Schedules staff and payroll in coordination with the Administrator.
• Attends administrative and resident-related meetings.
• Oversees the Resident Council and coordinates follow-up on issues raised.
• Coordinates activity programming and special events with other departments and the community.
• Plan monthly activity calendar and ensure activities occur per schedule.
• Manage the activity budget and related forms.
