Job summary

Qualifications

• 2 years in a social or recreational program within the last 5 years, including at least 1 year full-time in a therapeutic activities program.
• Licensed or registered by the state for Activities Director where practicing.

Responsibilities

• Direct the development, implementation, and ongoing evaluation of the activities program to meet residents' social, psychosocial, and therapeutic needs.
• Schedule activities ensuring each resident has at least one cognitive, two recreational, and three ADL activities daily.
• Ensure resident safety during activities and monitor use of potentially harmful items.
• Establish and oversee the Resident Council, including documenting minutes and concerns.
• Perform administrative functions such as staff orientation, policy development, and employee evaluations.
• Oversee the facility's volunteer program and supervise student practices in Leisure Studies and related areas.
• Monitor services provided by Beauty Shop Operators.
