Job summary

Vive Adolescent Care is seeking a Lead Activity Coordinator to oversee the daily operation and development of the activity programming for adolescents in treatment. You will build structured, engaging groups and lead a team to deliver consistent, therapeutic programming.

You will collaborate with clinical and program leadership, train staff, manage calendars and supplies, and ensure documentation reflects progress toward treatment goals. Bachelor’s degree and 2–3 years’ experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Therapeutic Recreation, Psychology, Social Work, Child and Youth Care, or a related field.
• 2–3 years of experience facilitating recreational, therapeutic, or youth programming.
• Behavioral health, residential treatment, or adolescent-care experience preferred.
• Leadership, scheduling, training, or program development experience a plus.
• Familiarity with CBT, DBT, mindfulness, or behavioral-health programming desirable.

Lead Activity Coordinator – Adolescent Behavioral Health

Full-Time | Leadership Role | Adolescent Behavioral Health

Vive Adolescent Care is looking for a Lead Activity Coordinator to take ownership of our activities department and create engaging, structured programming that helps adolescents build skills, connect with others, and experience success while in treatment.

This is much more than planning activities. We are looking for someone who can lead a department, develop meaningful programming, train and support a team, and bring consistency and creativity to the patient experience.

What You’ll Do

As the Lead Activity Coordinator, you will oversee the day-to-day operation and development of Vive’s activity programming, including:

• Create and lead engaging recreational, psychoeducational, and life-skills groups for adolescents.
• Develop structured non-therapy CBT and DBT-based activities that reinforce skills being taught by the clinical team.
• Incorporate practical skills such as mindfulness, TIPP, emotional regulation, communication, and DEAR MAN into programming.
• Build and maintain the department’s activity and group calendar.
• Coordinate staff schedules and coverage to ensure consistent programming every day.
• Lead, train, and develop activity staff and volunteers.
• Review activity documentation and ensure notes are completed accurately and consistently.
• Manage supplies, equipment, and activity resources so the team is always prepared.
• Work closely with clinical and program leadership to ensure activities complement each adolescent’s treatment goals.
• Bring new ideas, creativity, organization, and energy to the department.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Therapeutic Recreation, Psychology, Social Work, Child and Youth Care, or a related field.
• 2–3 years of experience facilitating recreational, therapeutic, or youth programming preferred.
• Behavioral health, residential treatment, or adolescent-care experience is strongly preferred.
• Previous leadership, scheduling, training, or program-development experience is a plus.
• Familiarity with CBT, DBT, mindfulness, or behavioral-health programming is highly desirable.
