Job summary

The Air Force Test Center at Edwards Air Force Base, CA, is seeking a Full-Time Acquisition Project Specialist (NH-1101-03) to manage cradle-to-grave projects within the 412 Test Wing. You will apply acquisition and project management practices to ensure capabilities are supportable and sustainable.

Responsibilities include leading project lifecycle activities, coordinating ICD/LCMP, managing budgets, and supporting risk management and cybersecurity advances. Travel up to 25% may be required.

Qualifications

• Direct Complex Acquisition Projects: 5+ years of project, technical, financial, or acquisition management experience.
• Drive Strategic Engagement: diplomacy, negotiation, and judgment to align diverse DoW/Air Force orgs and external contractors.
• Apply Systems Thinking: understand how complex systems connect and link goals with realities.

Responsibilities

• Project Leadership & Administration: lead project cost, schedule, and performance across full lifecycle.
• Project Initiation & Team Assembly: set objectives, deliverables, and success criteria; build cross-functional teams.
• Acquisition Planning & Strategy: coordinate ICD and LCMP; define budgets and identify solutions.
• Execution & Milestone Management: track milestones, manage risks, and adjust plans as needed.
• Monitoring, Tracking, & Control: review budgets and implement corrective actions to stay on track.
• Project Transition & Closeout: manage closeout procedures and lessons learned.
