Job summary

UC San Diego is seeking an experienced diagnostic cardiac sonographer with expertise in ACHD imaging and advanced echocardiography techniques. The role focuses on acquiring high-quality studies, interpreting data, and contributing to research and education within the cardiovascular imaging lab.

The candidate will perform 2D/3D echocardiography, strain imaging, and Doppler assessments, collaborate with cardiologists and fellows, and participate in on-call coverage and weekend shifts as needed,

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited diagnostic cardiac sonography program or equivalent experience.
• RDCS or RCS certification required; ARDMS or CCI acceptable.
• Four years of relevant sonography experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic recordings and measurements of echocardiographic data.
• Evaluate congenital cardiac anatomy and hemodynamics; prepare reports.
• Participate in education and mentoring of staff and trainees.
• Coordinate workflow with multidisciplinary teams and triage cases.
• May work nights/weekends and support after-hours calls.
