GHJ Search & Staffing is partnering with a well-established, privately held company in the agriculture and organic produce industry to identify a hands-on Accounting Manager for its Bakersfield headquarters. Reporting to the CFO, this role oversees a four-person accounting team while remaining actively involved in day-to-day accounting function and strives to grow into broader leadership responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong hands-on general ledger and month-end close experience.
• Experience leading accounting staff or mentoring team members.
• Strong knowledge of accrual accounting and GAAP.

Responsibilities

• Lead month-end and year-end close with journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and GL activity.
• Oversee a four-person accounting team across accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Oversee grower accounting, settlements, and related reporting with operations, sales, and grower relations.
• Prepare and review financial statements, budgets, variance analyses, and management reporting.
• Partner with the CFO on budgeting, cash flow forecasting, and financial analysis.
• Maintain internal controls and ensure GAAP compliance.
