Job summary

The Department of Recreation and Park of the City and County of San Francisco is seeking an Accountant III to act as lead for capital project finance, grants, and related reimbursements. You will manage reconciliations, review invoices for payment, and support year-end closings and audits.

Ideal candidates will have a strong background in government accounting, Excel proficiency, and experience with capital-funded reporting. This is a full-time, permanent exempt position within Capital Finance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field with 18 semester/24 quarter units in accounting.
• Four years of professional accounting experience including government-like systems and preparing financial reports.
• Master's degree may substitute for one year of work experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead accounting for Embarcadero Plaza Project, Jackson Playground, and Kezar Pavilion renovations.
• Handle project reconciliations, grant reimbursements, and payments to contractors.
• Perform year-end closings, quarterly reconciliations, and audits.
• Review and prepare complex financial reports from the City’s financial system.
• Identify, create, and maintain task profile IDs and perform GL account analysis.
