Cortland County DSS is seeking a Principal Account Clerk for the HELP Program. The role involves planning, assigning, and supervising major account-keeping activities and performing difficult accounting tasks, with independence and under general supervision.

This is a full-time position with 35 hours per week and benefits. Salary ranges from $22.8048 to $28.8651 per hour, with a non-competitive status and a probationary period.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in accounting or related field with 2 years clerical accounting experience.
• High school diploma with 4 years clerical experience maintaining financial accounts.
• Equivalent combination of training and experience may qualify.

Responsibilities

• Plan, assign and supervise major account keeping activities.
• Independently perform difficult account-keeping functions electronically or on paper.
• Work under general supervision with policy guidance.
