Job summary

State of Missouri seeks a self-motivated Lead License Program Inspector to conduct onsite inspections of lead abatement projects and ensure licensure compliance across the state. You will support safe abatement practices and protect Missouri citizens from lead hazards.

The role includes reviewing training provider applications, coordinating with EPA HUD programs, and assisting with regulatory updates while statewide travel is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Public Health, or related field.
• 2+ years in environmental health, preferably compliance/enforcement.
• Ability to obtain MO Lead Risk Assessor and Lead Abatement licenses.
• Knowledge of basic research methods, analytics, and statistics software.
• Ability to perform field inspections and travel statewide with a valid driver's license.
• Excellent problem-solving and time management skills.
• Ability to maintain databases and perform basic data queries/analysis.
• Adhere to professionalism policies.
• Moderate physical effort including driving, stairs, and outdoor terrain.

Responsibilities

• Perform onsite inspections of lead abatement projects and records audits.
• Monitor lead abatement projects statewide and issue warnings/violations when needed.
• Answer technical questions on lead abatement, licensing, and training.
• Coordinate with EPA Region 7, HUD programs, and state lead programs.
• Review submitted accredited training provider applications.
• Review course materials for accreditation/reaccreditation.
• Develop and share education materials to raise lead safety awareness.
• Collaborate to review and update regulations as required.
• Assist as backup to review and process occupational licenses.
