Job summary

The Art Farm NYC is seeking a Lead 3K/PreK Afterschool Teacher to provide a safe, nurturing, and engaging experience for children ages 3–4 after school. You will lead activities, support social development, and collaborate with teachers and the Director to ensure a high-quality program.

Ideal candidates have experience with young children, education or related field degrees, and a passion for early childhood learning.

Qualifications

• Experience with young children ages 3–4 in an educational setting.
• Degree in Education, Early Childhood Education, or Child Development or pursuing related field.
• Lead-teacher assignments depend on licensing, qualifications, and program needs.

Responsibilities

• Lead engaging, age-appropriate activities such as art, science, and sensory experiences.
• Follow schedules and lesson plans provided by the Director.
• Supervise children aged 3–4 with a focus on safety and well-being.
• Create a warm, inclusive classroom environment that supports learning.
• Support social, emotional, and developmental growth with positive guidance.
• Delegate tasks to Assistant Teachers and collaborate with teaching team.
• Maintain attendance, rosters, and classroom records; report concerns to Director.
• Maintain a professional appearance and positive representation of The Art Farm NYC.
