Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college/university.
• Two years full-time experience in a clinical laboratory.
• ASCP certification as MLT or MLS (or categorical/specialist); ongoing maintenance required.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate competencies for populations served; perform manual and automated lab procedures.
• Be proficient in computer programs related to instrumentation, documentation and record keeping.
• Understand and participate in all aspects of clinical laboratory testing (pre-, intra-, post-analytical).
• Provide technical and clinical decision support to staff and clinicians.
• Participate in Laboratory Quality System Plan and proficiency testing as assigned.
• Train and orient new staff and students; assess for retraining or competency needs.
