Network Connex seeks a skilled fiber optic technician to assemble, install, test, and splice fiber optic cables in our advanced systems environment. You will read blueprints and diagnose issues while calibrating equipment and maintaining detailed records of field work.

The role requires travel and overnight availability, with a strong emphasis on safety and quality. Our team operates in highly technical settings, offering competitive benefits and opportunities for growth.

Formación

• Experience in splicing and terminating single-mode and multimode fiber optic cables.
• Ability to interpret and analyze test results.
• Proficiency in reading blueprints and schematics.

Responsabilidades

• Assemble and install fiber optic cables.
• Test fiber optic cables to ensure proper performance.
• Splice fiber optic cables using fusion or mechanical splicing techniques.
• Troubleshoot and repair fiber optic cables.
• Read blueprints, schematics, and diagrams to determine installation requirements.
• Calibrate and adjust equipment as needed.
• Maintain records of work performed.

Task and Duties:

• Assemble and install fiber optic cables.
• Test fiber optic cables to ensure proper performance.
• Splice fiber optic cables using fusion splicing and mechanical splicing techniques.
• Troubleshoot and repair fiber optic cables.
• Read blueprints, schematics, and diagrams to determine installation requirements.
• Calibrate and adjust equipment as needed.
• Maintain records of work performed.

Skills:

• Experience in splicing and terminating single-mode and multimode fiber optic cables.
• Knowledge of fusion splicing and OTDR testing.
• Ability to interpret and analyze test results.
• Ability to read, interpret, and work from blueprints, schematics, and diagrams.

Requirements:

• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Understanding of fiber optic systems and components.
• Proficiency in splicing and related operations.
• Knowledge of safety standards and procedures.

Personal Traits:

• Detail-oriented.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Willingness and ability to travel.
• Production splicing required.
