Job summary

Network Connex is seeking a fiber optic splicing technician in Monroe, Louisiana. You will prep cables, perform mid-level splicing, and use OTDR/Power Meter testing to ensure quality and safety on site.

The ideal candidate has 1–3+ years of splicing experience, a High School Diploma, and proficiency with Microsoft Office. A safety-centric approach and a strong work ethic are essential for success in our team.

Qualifications

• 1–3+ years of fiber optic splicing experience or assisting with splicing projects.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Performs mid-level jobsite preparation for various underground, aerial and ISP fiber placement splicing projects.
• Preps fiber optic cables using shavers and splitters for splicing projects, including armored, dielectric, MIC, wet, dry, etc.
• Installs cables into splicing cases and ring-taps cables as needed, routing along racks and storage locations.
• Performs a variety of fiber splicing cuts and testing within a live fiber optic tray.
• Reads and interprets entry level construction prints and drawings; maintains splicing equipment.
• Ensures safety requirements are followed and operates company vehicles as directed.
