Job Summary
M1 is looking for a Lead, Data Analyst. The Lead, Data Analyst serves as the working lead for maintenance data analysis activities, overseeing the collection, integrity, analysis, and reporting of maintenance and flying performance data. This position directs, provides guidance, and training to support data analyst tasks. The role provides analytical support to maintenance operations by identifying performance trends, validating data integrity, and supporting decision-making through reliable, compliant data products.
Primary Responsibilities
- Serve as the working lead for Data Analysts, including assigning tasks and providing on-the-job training.
- Maintain training documentation and ensure assigned personnel remain qualified.
- Control the development and design of data retrieval programs used for the collection and analysis of maintenance data.
- Approve procedures related to coordination and control of background programs supporting maintenance data systems.
- Develop and support contingency plans for off-site IMDS processing during system outages or non-availability.
- Supervise the preparation of management, statistical, and performance analysis products to support maintenance decision making.
- Monitor and prepare studies, summaries, briefings, and presentations as required.
- Identify, correct, and resolve file and data linkage errors within IMDS/MIS using database utility programs.
- Monitor, collect, audit, and assemble data for management reports and briefings.
- Review data for accuracy, integrity, and significant trends; identify areas requiring further analysis or investigation.
- Analyze maintenance and flying performance data and provide causal analysis of trends to management and scheduling functions.
- Develop annual and monthly attrition factors for weather, maintenance, supply, operations, and other variables.
- Serve as the primary Database Manager (DBM) for IMDS/MIS.
- Oversee Data Integrity Team (DIT) activities, including program management and monitor training.
- Review external-source documentation for accuracy prior to use in reports.
- Prepare required weekly and monthly reports for external agencies (e.g., MLIR, RCSA, AETC LGM (M)7501 IAW AETCI 21-105).
- Assist maintenance personnel in interpreting maintenance data publications and reports.
- Promote company values, policies, and standards of conduct.
- Maintain professional coordination with base agencies and customers.
- Perform additional duties as assigned, including cross-utilization training (CUT), building custodian duties, TDY, and travel.
Qualifications and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum four (4) years of recent experience in Maintenance Management Analysis (MMA).
- Completion of the Air Force Maintenance Analysis Technical School or equivalent training.
- Attainment of at least a 5-level proficiency (2R051) or equivalent MMA experience.
- Minimum two (2) years of experience preparing 7501 reports, including calculation of maintenance metrics in accordance with AETC 21-105.
- Minimum two (2) years of Database Manager (DBM) experience, including: o Management of IMDS/MIS subsystems o Aircraft mishap procedures o Annual audit of IMDS security profiles o Audit processes for IMDS ELC access
- Minimum two (2) years of Data Integrity Team (DIT) experience, including program oversight and training of DIT monitors.
Skills
- Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical data.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including advanced Excel skills (Power Query and BI experience required).
- Ability to develop spreadsheets, databases, charts, graphs, and presentations.
- Proficient in computer use and data entry.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively with customers, base personnel, and data system monitors.
- Working knowledge of military maintenance terminology, aircraft status, and supply status processes preferred.
- Familiarity with LAN/WAN environments desirable.
- Ability to work irregular hours, including nights and weekends, in support of IMDS/CAMS operations.
