Job summary

Kodiak Island Borough seeks an entry-level Wastewater Operations staff member to assist in operating and maintaining the leachate treatment plant and related equipment for safe and proper treatment.

Responsibilities include monitoring plant control systems, pumps, blowers, and chemical equipment; conducting lab tests; maintaining logs; and contributing to regulatory reports. Alaska driver’s license and a high school diploma are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2 years of equipment operator and maintenance experience.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience acceptable.
• State of Alaska Driver's License required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in operation and maintenance of the leachate treatment plant.
• Monitor plant control systems and process instrumentation.
• Operate pumps, blowers, chemical equipment, and controls.
• Record readings and test results for regulatory reports.
• Maintain logs and perform basic repairs.
• Conduct laboratory tests and maintain records.
• Respond to call-outs and after-hours needs.
• Assist landfill staff with Baler Operator activities as needed.
