Prevailance, Inc. seeks a Diesel Engine Inspector – Subject Matter Expert Trainer to support CNSP through the Readiness Assistance Training Team. You will provide expert guidance on diesel propulsion systems and work directly with shipboard personnel to improve maintenance practices and readiness.

The role requires extensive Navy experience as EOOW and diesel inspector, with travel to CONUS and OCONUS locations to support shipboard visits.

Qualifications

• Minimum 15 years of supervisory-level watchstanding aboard ships with diesel propulsion systems as EOOW.
• Minimum 15 years of experience conducting diesel inspections aboard surface ships.
• Qualified and certified as a U.S. Navy Diesel Engine Inspector or equivalent.
• At least two tours as a Navy Diesel Engine Inspector supporting surface ship maintenance.
• Extensive Navy technical management experience across multiple ships.
• Experience serving as an EOOW aboard multiple diesel-powered ships.
• Recent operational/maintenance work within the last five years on Navy diesel propulsion systems.

Overview

The Diesel Engine Inspector – Subject Matter Expert Trainer supports Commander, Naval Surface Forces, Pacific Fleet (CNSP) as part of the Readiness Assistance Training Team (RATT). The RATT provides direct, Sailor-centric training and technical assistance to surface ships to improve technical proficiency, material condition, organic repair capability, and overall readiness.

Serving as the team's Navy diesel propulsion inspection specialist, the Diesel Engine Inspector provides expert-level technical guidance on diesel propulsion systems and supporting equipment. The SME works directly with shipboard personnel to identify root causes of equipment and system failures, strengthen operations and maintenance practices, and improve the crew's ability to maintain and troubleshoot diesel propulsion systems.

Location

San Diego, CA, with extensive travel in support of shipboard RATT visits throughout CONUS and OCONUS locations.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 15 years of supervisory-level watchstanding experience aboard warships or military auxiliaries with diesel engine propulsion systems as an Engineering Officer of the Watch (EOOW), Propulsion Plant Watch Officer, Chief Engineer, or equivalent position responsible for overall propulsion plant operations and associated auxiliary systems
• Minimum 15 years of experience conducting diesel inspections aboard surface warships or military auxiliaries
• Qualified and certified as a U.S. Navy Diesel Engine Inspector or equivalent
• At least two tours of experience as a Navy Diesel Engine Inspector supporting Navy surface ship maintenance processes
• Extensive Navy technical management experience across multiple ships
• Extensive experience serving as an EOOW aboard multiple diesel-powered ships
• Direct operational and maintenance experience within the last five years with Navy diesel main propulsion systems, diesel generators, associated control systems, and auxiliary equipment
• Ability and willingness to support extensive CONUS and OCONUS travel for shipboard RATT visits

• Must possess and maintain a SECRET clearance
