Job summary

The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board is seeking a LCB Licensing Supervisor to lead a team of Licensing Technicians in the Licensing Systems and Program Management Division. You will supervise daily assignments, review applications, and ensure timely, accurate licensing actions while guiding staff and implementing policy improvements.

Schedule includes full-time hours with opportunities for telework up to four days per week; one day in the Northwest Office Building in Harrisburg.

Qualifications

• One year of experience as an LCB Licensing Specialist or six years of technical experience interpreting statutes, program policies, or regulations.
• Must meet PA residency requirement and be able to perform essential job functions.
• Background check required; certain convictions reviewed case-by-case.

THE POSITION

The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board (PLCB) has an exciting opportunity for a LCB Licensing Supervisor in the Bureau of Licensing, Licensing Systems and Program Management Division. In this role you will be responsible for the direct supervision of a team of LCB Licensing Technicians.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position oversees licensing activities and guides staff through complex work to keep processes accurate and timely. As a LCB Licensing Supervisor, you will perform the following duties:

• Work Oversight: Monitor licensing tasks and ensure they follow all procedures and requirements
• Staff Guidance: Provide direction, training, and support to team members on daily assignments
• Document Review: Examine applications and legal materials to determine correctness and eligibility
• Policy Input: Recommend updates to policies, procedures, and training materials
• Issue Resolution: Address questions, concerns, and reports by coordinating with staff and leadership
• Operational Coordination: Oversee call systems, communication tools, and coverage schedules for the unit

Work Schedule and Additional Information

• Full-time employment
• Work hours are 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
• Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to four days per week, with one day per week in the Northwest Office Building in Harrisburg. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Required Experience, Training & Eligibility

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• One year of experience as an LCB Licensing Specialist (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
• Six years of technical experience interpreting and applying statutes, program policies, or industry regulations; or
• An equivalent combination of experience and training.

• You must pass a background investigation. An applicant with a felony conviction within the last ten years of their prospective date of employment is not permitted to work for the PLCB, per section 210(c) of the Pennsylvania Liquor Code.
