Job description

The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board (PLCB) has an exciting opportunity for a LCB Licensing Supervisor in the Bureau of Licensing, Licensing Systems and Program Management Division. In this role you will be responsible for the direct supervision of a team of LCB Licensing Technicians.

This position oversees licensing activities and guides staff through complex work to keep processes accurate and timely. As a LCB Licensing Supervisor, you will perform the following duties:

  • Work Oversight: Monitor licensing tasks and ensure they follow all procedures and requirements
  • Staff Guidance: Provide direction, training, and support to team members on daily assignments
  • Document Review: Examine applications and legal materials to determine correctness and eligibility
  • Policy Input: Recommend updates to policies, procedures, and training materials
  • Issue Resolution: Address questions, concerns, and reports by coordinating with staff and leadership
  • Operational Coordination: Oversee call systems, communication tools, and coverage schedules for the unit

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to four days per week, with one day per week in the Northwest Office Building in Harrisburg. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
  • One year of experience as an LCB Licensing Specialist (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Six years of technical experience interpreting and applying statutes, program policies, or industry regulations; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Legal Requirements:
  • You must pass a background investigation. An applicant with a felony conviction within the last ten years of their prospective date of employment is not permitted to work for the PLCB, per section 210(c) of the Pennsylvania Liquor Code. Other criminal convictions will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
