Job summary

Epiphany Family Services is seeking a Substance Abuse Counselor to provide counseling, education and support services to clients pursuing recovery. You will conduct assessments, develop treatment plans and lead group and individual sessions within a multidisciplinary team.

Qualified candidates must hold NC licensure or certification (CADC/LADC/LCAS or equivalent) and have at least 2 years of relevant experience; ASAM knowledge is a plus.

Qualifications

  • QP eligible under NC standards
  • State licensure or certification as a Substance abuse Counselor (CADC, LADC, LCAS or equivalent)
  • 2 years of experience minimum in substance abuse counseling or related behavioral health services
  • ASAM knowledge (preferred)
  • Dual diagnosis knowledge (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Conduct client assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Facilitate individual, group and family counseling sessions.
  • Educate clients and families on substance abuse, recovery and community resources.
  • Provide crisis intervention and referrals as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential case documentation in compliance with HIPAA and federal guidelines.
  • Collaborate with a team of healthcare and support professionals.
  • Support clients in relapse prevention and aftercare planning.
