Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Counseling and QP status with LCAS or LCAS-A are required.
  • Active Driver's License is required for this role.

The role of the Substance Abuse Counselor is to provide counsel and support to clients suffering from drug or alcohol dependency and educate families in the best ways to help in the recovery process.As a member of our Community Support Team, you will be responsible for conducting comprehensive substance abuse assessments that describes the relationship between the member's mental health and substance use. You will serve as a consultant and educator to fellow CST team members regarding integrated dual disorder treatment.Assist in the development of natural support networksIndividual and group supportive counselingMonitor symptoms and medications and link the individual to the appropriate services, agencies and supports in the communityWrite, implement, evaluate, and revise client's person-centered plan and overall treatment goalsThis description outlines the general scope and level of work for this role.
