Job summary

Siemens Energy is seeking a Wind Turbine Technician to oversee construction, commissioning, and maintenance of Siemens Gamesa and Senvion turbines at a US wind farm site, with a mobile team supporting other sites as needed.

Based in Orlando, you will travel up to 95% to customer sites, work at turbine heights, and apply safety-focused teamwork to deliver reliable energy systems.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with 2+ years' experience; college degree in related wind farm field desirable.
• Must pass physical; bodyweight restrictions of 265 pounds or less as required by safety regulations.
• Ability to prioritize and plan daily/weekly work with high quality orientation; problem solving.
• Hands-on experience with electrical systems including PLC programming and converters.
• Experience interacting with customers at various levels of responsibility.
• Travel up to 95% to customer sites inside and outside the US; passport and driver's license required.

A Snapshot of Your Day

In this role you’ll beresponsible for the construction, commissioning, and/or maintenance of SiemensGamesa and/or Senvion wind turbines at one of our potential Wind Turbine sitesin the US. Although this position will have a home wind farm site, it will alsobe part of a mobile team that supports other sites as needed. Provide excellentservice to our customers, analyze and react to people in stressful hazardoussituations.

• Contribute to the improvement of newand updated field procedures and standard methodologies
• Able to work inside the windturbine enclosure at an elevated height of 300 feet.
• Ability to think clearly and maintaincomposure during stressful and hazardous situations is critical to success inthe position.
• Physical requirements of the jobinclude but not limited to: Ladder climbing minimum 267 steps, up stairclimbing, standing for long periods, walking, lifting, bending, twisting, workabove shoulders, pushing, pulling, exposure to vibration, chemicals, confinedspaces and extreme weather conditions.
• Capable of efficiently taking onadditional roles and responsibilities at an operating wind farm.

WhatYou Bring

• Highschool diploma or equivalent is required along with 2 or more years'experience. A College degree or equivalent competency in a field related to thework of a wind farm technician ie: electrical / mechanical systems isdesirable. Various combinations of education, training, and experience will beconsidered. Large corrective experience preferred.
• Demonstratedability to work safely and effectively in a team environment. Must meet bodyweight restrictions of 265 pounds or less as required by the safetyregulations. Must pass a physical administered by a medical practitioner toensure ability to safely perform the job functions and meet the physicaldemands of the position
• Strongability to prioritize and plan daily/weekly work with a high level of qualityorientation, ability to analyze and resolve problems independently.
• Hands experience working with electrical systems including PLC programming andconverters.
• Experienceinteracting with customers at various levels of responsibility within theirrespective organizations.
• Traveling(up to 95%) to customer sites within and outside the US is a requirement of thejob. Must be eligible to hold a valid Passport and Driver’s License.
