The candidate will oversee policy development, regulatory compliance, and quality assurance, while supervising staff and contributing to QA/QC and budgeting initiatives in a dynamic lab environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in biology or closely related field required.
• ASCP or equivalent certification required.
• Active Florida CLT license required.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate laboratory operations in consultation with pathologists and report results per hospital/protocols.
• Maintain equipment performance by developing operations, quality, and troubleshooting procedures.
• Maintain inventory and anticipate supply needs.
• Monitor workload and peak periods to sustain productivity.
• Participate in quality assurance programs and QA reviews.
• Recruit, orient, train, and evaluate laboratory staff; handle disciplinary actions as needed.
• Comply with licensure CE requirements and contribute to benchwork as needed.

We are seeking a LC-MS Medical Technologist:

Our client is a high volume, specialty testing laboratory, located in beautiful Palm Beach County, FL.

This is a high tech, state of the art laboratory.

• An active Florida Clinical Laboratory Technologist License is required
• 2+ years of recent LCMS experience

Job Summary

Responsible for the management and administrative functions for the laboratory. Responsible for policy development and implementation, regulatory compliance and quality assurance. Supervision is exercised over laboratory supervisors, clinical staff and support staff.

Responsibilities include but not limited to

• Evaluating laboratory operations consulting with pathologists; reporting results according to protocols mandated by the hospital and public health department
• Ensuring maintenance of medical laboratory equipment performance by developing operations, quality, and troubleshooting procedures; ensuring staff compliance; certifying instrument performance; arranging equipment replacement, service, and repair
• Maintaining medical laboratory supplies inventory, determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies
• Maintaining laboratory productivity, monitoring workload, identifying peak and slack periods
• Participating in the hospital quality assurance program; consulting with pathologists; performing proficiency surveys; reviewing QC & QA programs
• Maintaining medical laboratory staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training employees, counseling, reviewing/evaluating and disciplining employees as needed
• Complying with state and professional continuing education licensure requirements
• Contributing to benchwork as needed

Education, Certification, & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in biology
• ASCP or equivalent certification
• An active Florida Clinical Laboratory Technologist License is required
