Job summary

LearnWell in Peoria, IL is seeking a passionate teacher to support adolescent students in a fast-paced behavioral health facility. You will plan and deliver daily lessons and provide individualized assistance to K-12 learners in a small classroom setting during treatment.

Typical class sizes range from 8 to 15 students. The schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, with some flexibility to meet candidate needs.

Qualifications

• B.A./B.S. degree from an accredited institution.
• Illinois LBS1 teaching license.
• Experience teaching K-12 students in core subjects.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver daily lesson plans for a small classroom.
• Provide individualized assistance to students and monitor progress.
• Maintain attendance and session reports and communicate student progress.

For more than 26 years, we have provided on-site educational services in hospitals, helping these school-age patients continue their education during treatment and reintegrate successfully into the classroom. Currently, we are seeking a passionate and creative teacher to join our team in Peoria, IL. This unique position will involve working in a fast-paced behavioral health facility, providing academic support to adolescent school-age patients in a small classroom setting as they receive treatment.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to plan and deliver daily lesson plans, provide individualized assistance to students, and regularly communicate about student progress as needed. Additionally, you will monitor and adjust teaching strategies to ensure student success and maintain accurate attendance and session reports. Most of our class sizes range from 8 to 15 school-age patients at any one time.

Position entails a 40-hour a week commitment, Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30pm (slightly flexible depending on candidates needs). We offer a very generous package of paid time off including vacation time, sick time, federal holidays, and paid school breaks.
