Job summary

Chicago Public Schools is seeking licensed teachers to join our classrooms. Under the supervision of the principal, teachers will instruct, monitor progress, track student development, and maintain discipline across assigned classes.

Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree or higher, a valid Illinois teaching license with the appropriate endorsements, and complete the CPS online application and teaching profile.

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution.
• Completion of the CPS online application and teaching profile at cps.edu/teach
• A valid teaching license issued by the Illinois State Board of Education, with endorsements for the role.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate deep understanding of content, pedagogy, and student knowledge to design learning objectives and coherent instruction.
• Create an environment for learning by maintaining respectful classroom culture and strong classroom management.
• Collaborate with case managers, counselors, and general education teachers to support students' needs.
• Respond to student needs with engaging instruction and appropriately challenging questions and assessments.
• Exhibit strong communication skills and professional judgment in interactions with administration, colleagues, families, and students.
• Prioritize student safety and adhere to the Student Code of Conduct and school-wide systems.
