Job summary

Wilsonart LLC is seeking a Layup Associate for the night shift (9pm–7am) in Temple, TX. You will support lay-up operations by fetching materials, assembling sheets, and ensuring quality and timing under supervision.

Able to operate a lift truck and cut-down table, you will help maintain a clean, safe work area and contribute to Lean initiatives. The role requires at least a high school diploma or equivalent and 1 year of related experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent or one year of work experience.
• Minimum of 1 year of work experience required.
• Knowledge of safety standards applicable to the work area.
• Familiarity with material quality standards.
• Data entry skills to record data in the system.
• Ability to identify patterns and finishes; read schedules.
• Ability to operate a lift truck and a cut down table.

Responsibilities

• Obtain lay-up material from pattern pullers, cutters or sheeters.
• Lay up material according to schedule under supervision.
• Vacuum or brush table before material is assembled.
• Monitor defects and verify dimensions of laid-up material.
• Submit material requests as directed by Layup 2/3.
• Clean up and cover completed runs; participate in Lean and Safety.
• Read schedules to verify readiness and use puller/pattern screens to lookup material.

Performs designated tasks at the lay-up table assigned by the department Team Lead. This is a grade 1 position, working night shift, 9pm - 7am. ## ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES• Obtains lay-up material for the run from the pattern pullers, super cutter or sheeting.• Helps with cutting down larger size paper at the cut down table as needed.• Vacuums or brushes off the table before the material is assembled.• Lays up the material according to the assigned lay-up schedule under direction of a Layup 2 or Layup 3 team member.• Monitors for defects in the paper or overlay and verifies length and width of all material laid-up.• Submits request forms for material at the direction of the Layup 2 or 3.• Vacuums and covers the completed run.• Participates in the Lean and Safety process.• Read schedules to help verify material is ready for assembly• Utilize puller screens and pattern Identification screens to look up material and verify runs Performs other tasks as assigned## KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES• Knowledge of safety standards applicable to the work area and other pertinent rules/regulations governing work standards.• Knowledge of the material quality standards.• Knowledge of computer sufficient to enter data into the system.• Ability to identify patterns and finishes.• Ability to operate a lift truck and lowboy.• Skill in hand-and-eye coordination.• Ability to operate cut down table.• Lay up material at an adequate pace to match the Layup 2 or 3 performance.
