Job Responsibilities
- Programs and operates the Coordinate Measurement Machine (CMM) and/or portable CMM and/or other measuring equipment to verify the quality of components, assemblies and tooling. The job includes doing necessary dimensional layouts via CMM or other means to ensure customer and Quality Assurance standards are being met and maintained.
- Provide dimensional layout services to ensure component and assembly conformance to engineering and quality standards.
- Calibrate hand tools, gauges and maintain records of maintenance.
- Perform capability studies as required.
- Maintain applicable software related to measurement systems.
- Prepare dimensional reports and analyze them for correctness before sharing them with the user and initiate corrective actions as needed.
- Evaluate check fixtures to ensure they are adjusted and functioning properly and initiate corrective actions as needed.
- Develop gauging instructions and methods.
- Assist with sample submissions.
- Assist in maintaining gauge records; ensure required accreditation and logo mark is correct on Metrology Gage certificates and maintain GageQuest software.
- Assist in problem solving, implementation of corrective and preventative actions, and continuous improvement plans.

Qualifications
- Associates Degree (AA) or equivalent from a two‑year college or university; or three to five years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must demonstrate very good understanding of computer programs.
- Proficient in PC DMIS software for CMM, measurement systems, and portable CMM.
- Strong experience in portable CMM and associated software.
- Full knowledge of Geometrical Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) with ability to read blueprints and drawings.
- Ability to perform trigonometric functions, geometry, and basic math.
- Basic knowledge in maintenance of Coordinate Measuring Machines and other measurement equipment, including the Keyence Scanner.
- Working knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC).
- Knowledge of Measurement System Analysis (MSA), e.g., Gage R&R, bias, linearity, etc.
- Effective written, listening, and communication skills.
- Self‑driven.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions; ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematics or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Physical Demands
- Must be able to perform physical activities, such as but not limited to, lifting equipment (up to 40 lbs. unassisted), bending, standing, climbing or walking.
