Magna International is seeking a Quality Team Lead in Birmingham, Alabama. You will oversee quality lab activities, ensuring compliance with customer and quality assurance standards.

The function of Quality Team lead is to assist with co‑ordination and leading of activities in the quality lab and running and maintenance of the coordinate measuring machines (CMM) OPTIGO, OPTICELL and other measurement tools and equipment (3D Scanner). The role includes doing necessary dimensional layouts via CMM or other means to ensure customer and Quality Assurance standards are being met and maintained.
The Quality Team lead is responsible for their safety and well‑being, as well as the team's health and safety, quality, customer, cost, productivity, and ergonomic issues through using the company policies and procedures and the Magna Employee’s Charter as a guideline.
Some of the physical demands for this position include being able to lift up to a weight of 40 pounds and the ability to stand, sit, and walk for prolonged periods of time.
Some of the equipment and tools used are a computer, printer, telephone, photocopier, PPE, forklift, Opticell/Optigo, CMM Machine and an assortment of metrology tools, X‑Ray, Spectrometer, Blister oven, 3D Scanner.
Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Associate degree (AA) or equivalent from two year college or university; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Understanding of customer quality specifications, Working knowledge of CMM programming, Microsoft application certification, Statistical Process Control including FARO CAM2 SPC Process Control. Forklift and crane certification will be an asset.
Computer skills, proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
