Job summary

MPI, a leading self-perform construction organization in Columbus, OH, seeks a field engineering/surveying professional to establish control points and perform precise layout using Total Stations and related equipment. You will review drawings, coordinate layouts with leadership, and support high-profile concrete projects.

Applicants should have 1+ years of field experience, strong communication skills, and be proficient in surveying software and MS Office.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of field engineering, surveying, or construction layout experience.
• Experience supporting commercial, industrial, concrete, or self-perform construction projects.
• Proficient with Total Station, Robotic Total Station, and/or Theodolite equipment.
• Working knowledge of surveying software and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain project control points throughout the line and grade process.
• Perform construction layout using Total Stations, Robotic Total Stations, and other surveying instrumentation.
• Review drawings to verify dimensions and identify discrepancies before construction begins.
• Utilize surveying software to position project elements accurately.
• Coordinate with project leadership to schedule and sequence layout activities.
• Deliver accurate layout information to field teams to support project execution.
• Monitor quality standards and identify opportunities for process improvement.
• Troubleshoot and resolve layout, survey, and drawing conflicts in the field.
