Job summary

IKON Construction, LLC seeks a Layout Field Engineer to lead line, grade, and layout activities on large commercial projects. You will operate Total Station, robotic Total Station, or Theodolite, and provide accurate layout data for field execution.

Responsibilities include validating drawings, verifying elevations, and monitoring tolerances to support high-quality pours. Expect field work outdoors, regular site travel, and collaboration with project leadership.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of field engineering, surveying, and layout experience on large commercial projects.
• Self-perform concrete experience preferred.
• Projects typically >$1 million; commercial/industrial emphasis.

Responsibilities

• Set up and maintain permanent horizontal and vertical control throughout line-and-grade work.
• Operate Total Station, Robotic Total Station, or Theodolite and related survey software.
• Validate dimensions by reviewing drawings before execution and raise RFIs as needed.
• Verify benchmarks and elevations for pours and document in daily reports.
• Monitor tolerances, document as-built conditions, and drive corrective actions.
• Coordinate layout deliverables with placement crews and project leadership.
• Engage the project team to keep schedules and sequencing on track.
• Maintain safety and QA/QC practices on site.
