Job summary

Sehlhorst Equipment Services is seeking a motivated Layout Engineer Co-op to join our team. This role offers a hands-on opportunity for a college student pursuing Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering to assist in equipment and facility layout design and supporting production systems.

You will collaborate with engineers, PMs, and shop personnel to gather requirements, develop 2D/3D drawings, and participate in site visits.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a college/university degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering or a related field.
• Sophomore, junior, or senior standing preferred
• Familiarity with CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor or similar) preferred
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Good communication and teamwork abilities
• Willingness to learn and take initiative
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)

Responsibilities

• Create and revise equipment and facility layout drawings using CAD software.
• Support space planning and workflow optimization projects.
• Collaborate with engineers, PMs, and shop personnel to gather layout requirements.

• Participate in site visits and measurements to verify existing conditions.

What We're Looking For
