Job summary

UST is seeking a Layout Engineer to contribute to high-speed PCB design and layout for advanced GPU, CPU, and server platforms. You will define ball-out, footprints, routing strategies, and stack-ups while ensuring constraints are met.

Collaborate with SI/PI, Mechanical, Thermal, Packaging, and Manufacturing teams to optimize performance and manufacturability, perform PCB verification, and generate fabrication outputs such as ODB++, Gerbers, and docs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering and 5+ years of related experience; or Master's Degree with 3+ years of related experience.
• Proficient in schematic design using Altium or equivalent (Altium preferred).
• Experience with high-speed interfaces and design automation initiatives.

The Role

UST is searching for a Layout Engineer who will participate in high-speed PCB design and layout for advanced GPU, CPU, and server platforms.

What You'll Do

• Define ASIC ball-out, component footprint and placement, routing strategy, stack-ups, and design constraints.
• Develop and implement design rules for high-speed interfaces including PCIe, memory, SERDES, and power delivery networks.
• Collaborate with Board Design, SI/PI, Mechanical, Thermal, Packaging, and Manufacturing teams to optimize design performance and manufacturability.

This position description identifies the responsibilities and tasks typically associated with the performance of the position. Other relevant essential functions may be required.

What You Need

• Prior, recent years of PCB design and layout experience on complex, high-speed electronic systems.
• Hands‑on experience with Altium (preferred), or equivalent PCB CAD tools.
• Expertise in high-speed routing, HDI technologies, dense BGA designs, stack‑up development, impedance control, and power delivery.
• Strong understanding of PCB fabrication, assembly, and manufacturing processes.
• Experience designing CPU, GPU, data center, or other high‑performance computing platforms.
• Experience partnering with Signal Integrity and Power Integrity teams.
• Familiarity with ASIC‑driven PCB development workflows and design automation initiatives.

Location & Compensation

Compensation can differ depending on factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, education, and level of experience. UST provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in various U.S. markets as set forth below.

$56,000-$84,000

Compensation range: $ 56,000.00 to 84,000.00 per year
