The role emphasizes IPM expertise, reliable attendance, valid Florida driver’s license, and the ability to work outdoors in varying temperatures while delivering top customer service.

Qualifications

• One year experience in Lawn and Ornamental, Pest Control, or Horticulture—preferred.
• Certification as Pest Control Operator preferred.
• Valid Florida driver's license required.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work outdoors.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Able to safely operate spray equipment.
• Ability to work in a team and independently.

Responsibilities

• Perform IPM by diagnosing and treating turf and ornamentals on-site.
• Apply fertilizers and pesticides per label and regulations.
• Mix products correctly and maintain inventory.
• Operate tools and equipment safely.
• Maintain vehicle, trailer, and equipment cleanliness.
• Communicate with Manager to ensure proper methods.
• Complete daily tickets and deliver outstanding customer service.

Baker Fertilization and Pest Control is looking for a willing, motivated, and experienced Lawn and Ornamental Spray Technician to join our ever-growing company. This Spray Technician must have the ability to perform proper fertilization and pesticide applications to high profile commercial properties throughout Central Florida while working in a team environment. Duties And Responsibilities

• Correctly performing IPM - identifying, diagnosing, and treating turf and ornamental issues while on property in a safe manner.
• Applying fertilizers & pesticides to turf & plant material in accordance with State and local regulations.
• Ensure proper mixing of products according to label instructions and product specifications.
• Ensuring the safe and proper operation of tools, vehicles, and equipment; adhering to safety standards and regulatory requirements
• Maintain proper inventory levels on truck
• Maintaining a clean vehicle, trailer, and equipment
• Maintain constant communication with the Manager to ensure the proper methods/products are being utilized
• Using proper equipment to perform duties
• Completing all assigned tickets (jobs) for the day in a timely manner
• Deliver outstanding customer service in order to maintain customer retention levels

Skills/Requirements

• Management Opportunity for Certified Pest Control Operator
• Must maintain good attendance and arrive to work on time everyday
• Must have a Valid Florida Drivers License with a clean record
• One year experience in Lawn and Ornamental, Pest Control, or Horticulture Industry - Preferred
• GI-BMP Best Management Practices Certificate - Preferred
• Be able to identify various plants and turf species
• Excellent communication skills with fellow employees and customers
• Knowledge of how to properly apply pesticides and fertilizers
• Knowledge of proper calibration of spray equipment
• Knowledge of turf and ornamental problems (insects, disease, weeds)
• Ability to work with fellow employees in a cooperative manner
• Ability to efficiently work independently
• Experience with operating a Zspray or similar Zero Turn machine
• Ability and drive to work outside for long period to time (in extreme temperatures and direct sunlight)
• Must be able bend, twist, and lift throughout the working day
• Must be able to use power equipment
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs throughout the working day
• Knowledge of how to use a mobile device or tablet
• Be able to SAFELY drive a truck and trailer
