Job Description

Pacific Pros is seeking Sr. Project Controls Manager (Level III) for Construction Projects to represent Los Angeles World Airport (LAWA). These projects include, but are not limited to: Airside, Airline Terminal Improvement projects, Airport Service Improvement projects, Terminal Development projects, and Asset Renewal.

Note: Project Controls Managers with less experience may be considered for upcoming opportunities. Candidates are encouraged to contact Pacific Pros for future consideration.

Work Location: LAWA requires candidates to be local.

Region: Los Angeles, CA

Status: Full-time on-site

Opening: Spring 2025, Immediate

Essential Job Duties
  • Review project activities to support milestones; develop micro-phasing schedules for challenging work phases; coordinate parties for project completion.
  • Engage with designers, contractors, and third parties to identify and mitigate project risks.
  • Review contractor pay applications for consistency with schedules and progress documents.
  • Coordinate cost recording, monitoring, and reporting practices.
  • Develop and maintain schedule resource loading, leveling, and monitoring activities.
  • Provide progress reports and briefing materials; develop tools to communicate project sequencing and progress; report budget and schedule variances promptly.
  • Understand and appreciate time frames for disciplines such as BHS, Special Systems, Power, HVAC, etc.
  • Require previous project controls experience on large-scale, multi-million dollar construction projects, especially in aviation.
  • Must be proactive, results-oriented, and capable of handling additional responsibilities.
  • Demonstrate success through performance, responsibility, and growth; ensure accuracy and reliability in work.
  • Maintain effective communication skills, interface well with diverse teams, and be detail-oriented and organized.
  • Foster a “can-do” attitude within the controls team to ensure accurate and timely results.
Hardware/Software Knowledge
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook), SharePoint, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Experience with industry software such as Expedition; Primavera P6 (desirable); Prolog (desirable).
Required Qualifications
  • US Employment Authorization (no sponsorship needed).
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Valid Driver’s License and compliance with PACIFIC’s Vehicle Policy.
  • 3+ references, preferably from public agency clients.
  • 15+ years of project controls experience in construction, preferably in airports/public sector.
  • Experience managing large, complex projects and progress reporting methodologies.
  • Experience with Design-Build and Construction Management at Risk methods (desirable).
  • Ability to understand complex construction programs and communicate progress effectively.
Education/Training
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, project management, business, or related field.
  • Master’s degree (preferred).
Element-Specific Requirements/Notes
  • Aviation experience preferred.
  • May perform additional duties as needed.
  • Potential to work beyond regular shifts and various shifts as required.
  • This position may offer a hybrid/telework schedule per LAWA’s Pilot Telework Policy, with potential telework on Monday and Friday, onsite Tuesday through Thursday. LAWA may require full onsite presence.
