Pacific Pros is seeking Construction Inspector for Construction Projects to be a representative for Los Angeles World Airport (LAWA).

Work Location: LAWA has required the candidates be local for this position.

Region: Los Angeles, CA

Status: Full-time on-site.

Opening: Spring 2025, Immediate

Position Description Summary

Serve as Owner's representative.

Essential Job Duties for this position

  • Inspects the construction of a wide variety of airport improvements and utilities projects to ensure conformance to plans, specifications, contracts, permits, environmental documents, and agreements for work, and may provide construction inspection support.
  • Documents daily progress of the work, prepares monthly progress payment requests, tracks various changes, verifies time and material work, measures and documents job quantities.
  • Documentation and information retrieval may require computer literacy skills.
  • Construction Inspectors must have the ability to set priorities, make decisions, and work effectively with minimal supervision, dealing tactfully and effectively with LAWA stakeholders, contractors, construction workers, and the public while conducting themselves in a professional manner at all times.
  • Conduct inspections for the installation of sanitary sewer systems and storm drains, including related structures, in accordance with City and County of Los Angeles Standards.
  • Oversee the installation of underground wet and dry utilities, working within or for various Southern California regional agencies.
  • Perform inspections for the installation of street lighting and traffic signal systems, following the specifications set by the City of Los Angeles Bureau of Street Lighting and the Los Angeles Department of Transportation.
  • Ensure compliance with multi-phased, site-specific traffic control plans, with a strong emphasis on pedestrian safety and routing.
  • Collaborate professionally within a large team of inspectors.
  • Apply extensive knowledge of City of Los Angeles Standard Plans/Specifications and the Standard Specifications for Public Works Construction (Greenbook).

Hardware/Software Knowledge

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite software – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Experience with Adobe Acrobat.

Required Qualifications

  • 5 years or more of experience performing inspection of large scale Public Works type projects
  • Proven expertise in the installation and inspection of sewer and storm drain systems, utility infrastructure, and traffic control measures.
  • Strong working knowledge of City of Los Angeles and County of Los Angeles Standards.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Requires a detail-oriented professional with extensive field experience and a strong commitment to safety and compliance.
  • US Employment Authorization without needing sponsorship.
  • See Education/Training requirements.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • A valid Driver’s License and compliance with PACIFIC’s Vehicle Policy.
  • Proficiency with common Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook), SharePoint, and Adobe Acrobat (PDF files).
  • 3+ References from Clients.

Minimum Education/Training

  • High school diploma (or equivalent).
  • Higher education level is preferred.

Registration/Certification

  • OSHA 30 (prior to assignment), obtained within the past 4 years.
  • No specific technical certification requirement; although any technical certification such as ICC is a plus.

Element-Specific Requirements/Notes

  • May assume other duties as required/needed.
  • May be required to work various shifts as needed.
  • The position will require the candidate to have the ability to transit to, from, and between project sites.
  • LAWA has required the candidates be local and available fully on-site for this field position.
